Legends Boxing Bountiful: Meet the Owners!

Have you heard the news? Legends Boxing is opening a Bountiful, UT location this Winter! That’s right, we’re growing right before your eyes and are so excited to continue to welcome new Legends Boxing members into our Tribe throughout Utah! Our Bountiful location couldn’t be possible without the owners Jake Maughan and David Yang – so let’s meet them!

Outside of boxing, Jake and David are business partners in Real Estate. Recently, they were opponents at the Legends Boxing Executive Fight Night, which took place this past April. In the process of training with Legends for the fight night, both Jake and David grew their passion and respect for the sport of boxing. The camaraderie of friends at the Legends gym, challenging workouts, and the Legends brand are what inspired Jake and David to purchase three Legends Boxing Gym locations, with the first one opening this fall in Bountiful, Utah.

All about Jake

Jake received his Undergraduate degree in Accounting and an MBA from Utah State University. Currently, he is the Executive Vice President of Campaign Execution and Integration for the Branded Entertainment Network, a Bill Gates company focused on integrating brands into popular entertainment and content (read: product placement). Aside from work, Jake’s passionate about being active, including playing all sports, being in the great outdoors and competing at all levels. He lives in Spanish Fork, Utah with his wife and four kids.

Introducing David

David received his Undergraduate degree is Respiratory Therapy and Masters in Human Resources from The Ohio State University. Since moving to Utah in 2011, David has purchased and currently owns thirteen real estate investment properties. Outside of real estate, David owns a Subway Sandwiches Restaurant in Ogden, Utah and a popular Utah-based food truck—Amkha Misky Peruvian Specialties. David loves to do things that are athletically challenging. He has completed 8 full distance 140.6 mile Ironman Triathlons, including 2 World Championships in Kona, Hawaii and has finished 8 full distance marathons. David is also the Regional Recruitment Leader at Rio Tinto, the second largest mining company in the world.

Both Jake and David are excited to join the Legends Boxing Family and bring Boxing to more neighborhoods in Utah! Be on the lookout for more details about the Legends Bountiful opening coming this Winter!
